Function: Brake calipers house the brake pads and are responsible for applying pressure to the brake rotor, which slows down or stops the vehicle's wheels from rotating.
Types: There are two main types of brake calipers - floating calipers and fixed calipers. Floating calipers have a single piston that pushes the inner brake pad against the rotor. Fixed calipers have multiple pistons on both sides of the rotor.
